I had the honor of serving as Golden’s 46th mayor, completing my term in January of 2012 and handing the gavel to my very worth successor, Mayor Marjorie Sloan. Prior to becoming mayor I served on the Golden Historic Preservation Board and for two and a half years on the City Council. During my time in elected office I represented Golden on the board of the Denver Regional Council of Governments and I was a member of the executive committee of the Metro Mayors Caucus. I graduated from Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, studied environmental science at Oregon State University, and later received a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Colorado. I work part-time for a terrific Colorado-based nonprofit organization called PlaceMatters, and I’m a Founder Institute graduate and a co-founder of the tech startup TourChimp. I am very fortunate that I’ve been able to make Golden my home and I look forward to remaining an active member of this remarkable community.
