Parfet Estates Berm Update

Everyone’s been pretty anxious to finish the berm work along U.S. 6, but we’ve been stuck for a while waiting for CSM to finalize an agreement on a drainage project that has to be completed first. We finally got past that hurdle – CSM signed the agreement – and we can start moving forward again as soon as the contractor can schedule it.

From the public works director:

The berm on Parfet Estates was graded starting at the south as far as we can to the north. It will be seeded and blanketed soon. The CSM agreement was finally signed and we have received their $60,000. We issued the notice to proceed on the drainage project as soon as we had the signed agreement, but because the contractor had moved to other jobs he will not have a crew available until late September. We will be moving dirt to the site, the excess Jackson Street sub base will be hauled there beginning today. As soon as the pipeline is complete the stock pile will be spread and shaped and the entire site will be revegetated and the project will be 100% complete. This will likely be early November unless the pipeline encounters weather delays.
